Every year, thousands of faculty positions in primary and secondary schools go unfilled in the United States. A revolving door of substitutes and uncredentialled employees create a patchwork of support. In order to address this need, the United States issues visas to highly qualified educators from other countries who meet the standards and certifications within a school district.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. We are currently accepting applications for the 2022-23 school year.
Every state requires a specific English test. Some states require TOEFL iBT, and others require the Nelson Denny Reading Proficiency Test.
We offer the most comprehensive professional vetting and placement services to all our applicants. We accompany teachers from consulting and self-marketing to placement. We utilize a team of educators who are actively engaged in the public school system to make recommendations for which districts will be a fit.
No, placement is not guaranteed.  Our goal is to match teachers with schools. However, there are administrative decisions that are beyond our control. Final hiring decisions come from the school districts.

Districts coordinate with us to make their decision, and we oversee communication between the district and our teacher applicants. If all educational credentials, certification and legal requirements are met, then the teacher applicant will be hired.
No, there is no placement fee.  We only collect documentation, processing, and relocation fees which benefit the teachers. A reasonable, one-time fee is billed to the applicant once the visa documents have been approved.

You are only billed once your visa is approved.
The usual visa is a J1 Visa, which is specifically for educators coming to the United States. Exceptional teachers may be offered H1B Visas.

Schools have the option to offer H1B visas or J1 visas. The most up to date information can be found with the State Department.

Our teacher placement happens in August. If a teacher with a visa is not hired for the upcoming school year, we continue to work with school districts in the event that a position opens up mid-year, and then support the applicant again the following year.

It behooves applicants to reach out as soon as possible to begin the process for the coming August.
Yes, you may bring your immediate family. This includes a spouse and dependents, who become eligible for a J2 Visa upon your approval.
Yes, it is an advantage to have a driver's license. Some of our school districts are located too far from public transportation to depend on it.

Do not assume you will be able to get a teaching job in a city with public transportation.
A credential evaluation is necessary to ensure authenticity, and a standard that is equitable to that of a credential issued in the United States.
Yes, any accredited credentialing service can be used. Please contact our office for a list of credentialing service providers that our school districts prefer.  We have a corporate account with the credentialing service provider, thus it is more time and cost efficient if we liaise the credentialing for you.
Yes, a teacher applicant may request a geographical location and we will take that into consideration. However, we cannot guarantee that such request will be fulfilled. The first priority is to ensure employment, regardless of location.
Prior to coming to the United States, Trades and Professions will submit required documents on your behalf, so that a teaching certification can be issued, which is good for one year. During your first year teaching in the US, you must take the state certification exam so that a long-term standard certificate can be issued.
Applicants must bring their
  • Resume
  • Original AND Photocopy of a Transcript of Record
  • Diploma
  • Current PRC Certification stating that the license is in good standing
We also suggest that applicants bring their resume and credentials as documents on a thumb drive.
Applicants are be interviewed by the Principal Employer, school district representatives and/or Educational Consultants.
No, we do not.  We can assist in finding an apartment, but teachers pay the security deposit and monthly rental.

As a teacher, you will be a government employee, and receiving a commensurate salary and benefits.
